Funeral homes are there to make your life much easier, namely by handling any number of arrangements and logistical requirements. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be involved with the planning process. Active involvement is often essential to ensuring that a funeral reflects one’s wishes and intent. That’s important. If you or someone you know is looking for funeral homes serving Saskatoon, SK, you should know there is an option in your area that will actually work with you directly and listen to your needs. You really shouldn’t accept anything less than that.

Cherished Memories Funeral Services & Crematory, Inc. is strongly committed to building a relationship with our clients. Whether you are planning your own funeral well in advance or are the family members of a loved one, we are ready and willing to work with you throughout the planning process. We believe in open communication, and we do everything within our power to honor that kind of relationship. Building trust is an important component, as well. We take that kind of responsibility very seriously when it comes to our clients. Everyone’s preferences, however unique, are extremely important when it comes to achieving the right outcome. That means you have a role when it comes to funeral planning

To be sure, your role can vary. Some families are really interested in making sure that a funeral looks and feels the right way. Other families are more content to sit back and trust the professionals. There is really no right or wrong answer when it comes to your level of involvement. And you certainly shouldn’t feel any pressure to remain actively involved throughout the process. The important thing is that the opportunity is there. You are entitled to have a say. This is your funeral. It is our responsibility to make sure your family has the right kind of experience and can honor your loved one in a dignified fashion. But you should never be excluded from that process.

More specifically, this means that you have every right to provide input regarding a number of issues. Where should the funeral be held? What kind of attire should guests wear? Who should lead the service? How should that service be customized to reflect your loved one’s interests or personality? What should the funeral look and feel like? What kind of music should be played? Should the eulogies adopt a particular focus or tone? These are all important questions. Yes, we can make many of these decisions based on what we know. But we always welcome your contributions when it comes to making these kind of arrangements.

Your role in funeral planning is often the difference between a somewhat generic funeral and something that really fits your needs. There is certainly nothing wrong with doing things more traditionally or allowing a funeral home to lead the way. But we want you to know that you have a place at the table. This is about you and your family. This is about your memories of a loved one and cherishing them the right way. You should never feel excluded from that kind of involvement.
