Yvonne Marie Lafond, born on May 14, 1932, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025. Yvonne was a member of the Big River First Nation (Whitefish) and resident of Green Lake community. Yvonne was a beloved member of her community and cherished by her family and friends. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith and love for God, her kindness, her generosity, and her love for her family.
Yvonne was predeceased by Grandparents & Parents: Clair Laliberte/”Big” Joe Aubichon on Fathers Antoine (Tony) Aubichon side and Grandparents of Philomen Aubichon (nee Bear) - Napoleon Morin/Marie Anne Mikwasteskam (Bear), Predeceased Sisters & Brothers: Melvina Redhead (Doug), Cecile Ross (Philip), Anette Lafond (Willy), Gabe Aubichon (Eva) and Elizabeth Star. Predeceased by her husband Vital and children Eliza, Josephine, Dennis, Allan, Richard, Michael and Eva Jean.
Yvonne is survived by her Sister Agnus Miller & Brother John Aubichon and loving children: Edna Durocher (Isadore), Gord Lafond, Mable Rediron (Gordon), Brian Lafond (Georgette), Ellen Mae Morin (Dennis), Jack Lafond, Darwin Lafond, and Gabriel Lafond (Tania) as well as numerous grand children & great, great grandchildren.
Her legacy will live on through the memories and love shared by those who knew her. Throughout her life, Yvonne demonstrated remarkable strength and resilience. She was always there to offer a helping hand, or a warm embrace. Her dedication to her family was unwavering, and her love knew no bounds.
Yvonne's life was a shining example of how one person's love and kindness can make a difference in the lives of many. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace.
Our Family extends heartfelt thanks to the incredible staff at Porteous Lodge Care Home for their warm care. A Family viewing will be held on December 23, 2025, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Cherished Memories Funeral Home, 591 Centennial Drive North, Martensville, Sk. Following the family viewing, a wake service will be held in Green Lake, Sk. on January 02, 2026, at 11:00am followed by a Catholic Church Service at the St. Judes Church at 11:00am.
