William Richard Guilmette

William (Bill) Richard Guilmette passed away on July 31, 2025, after a brave battle with cancer. He was born on January 23, 1956, in Lillooet, BC, to parents Anne and Frederick Guilmette. The family later moved to Saskatchewan, eventually settling in Saskatoon.

He was predeceased by his sisters Pamela and Gail, his late wife Velma, and his mother Anne.

Bill worked a variety of jobs early in life, including linen supply, a fabric shop, warehouse & furniture, the tax department, and hauling freight. He later took a course in Regina for appliance repair.

Bill was married to Velma Herbst for many years, and together they had one daughter, Melissa. He worked for Sears in Saskatoon for 17 years. Skilled in appliance repair, he enjoyed being on the road, traveling countless country roads and meeting many interesting people along the way.

Later, Bill met Faith and moved to the Melville/Yorkton area. He started his own business and also worked for Bonsals Appliance Repair. Sadly, Bill had to retire early after an accident caused partial paralysis on his left side. Despite this, he remained strong and never lost his sense of humor. He especially loved camping and lake trips to Madge Lake, Birds Point, Katepwa, and Moose Mountain.

He will be sadly missed.

Bill leaves to mourn his wife Faith; children: Melissa (Cory), Tammy, and Christa; grandchildren: Barrett, Briar, Bella, Jordyn, Brayden, Masyn, Daxyn, and Dawsyn; and great-grandchild: Kinsley.

He is also survived by his brothers: David (Rhonda), Ted (Kelly); special brother-in-law Glen Beckett (Cindy Lou) and their children Bryan (Elaina), Andrew (Paige), Bobby Beckett (Angie) and families; brothers-in-law: Robert (Carrole) Wurts and Grant (Melanie) Wurts; sisters-in-law: Janice Yanko and Joy (Lloyd) Stilborn and their families.

A family Celebration of Life will be held on September 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at 3410 Miyo-Wahkohtowin Rd.
