Wilfred Albert Stringer

Wilf Stringer of Martensville, Sask. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at the age of 74 at Royal University Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Wilf was born on October 24, 1951 to his parents Robert and Rose Stringer of Saskatoon. He was predeceased by his parents, many aunts, uncles and cousins. Wilf will be missed by his loving wife of 40 years, Jeanette and their daughters’ Crystal Derksen, Candis (Adam) Hueser, Charla (Greg) Penner and his daughter Jeannie (Steve) Buhr. Along with their grandchildren Brayden, Jessica, Carly, Ava, Jakob, Bailey, Brooklyn and Lily.

Wilf was raised on the family farm and found great joy in returning there throughout his life. He worked at many welding and mechanic shops over the years and spent his last 16 years at Redhead Equipment until he retired due to medical issues. Wilf was a jack of all trades, he was a machinist, a welder, a mechanic, a metal worker and a painter. He loved anything with a motor in it and more specifically his Bronco. He was an avid guitar player who played everyday and could listen to any song and play it back to you on one of his many guitars. He enjoyed holidays to the mountains, trying out new recipes he found on social media and enjoyed eating food (and not the healthy stuff). He loved spending time outdoors fishing, bird watching and of course shopping for new plants for Jeanette to take care of. Wilf was always willing and able to help anyone in need but struggled to ask for help himself (a little stubborn). He loved visiting with his family and friends and sharing a whiskey or scotch with anyone willing to join him.

We were fortunate to have him in our lives as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother in law, and most importantly a friend. He will be remembered and cherished by all of us.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Sree (his vascular surgeon), the St Paul’s ICU nurses and doctors and RUH Neurology ward staff.

A service for Wilf will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Cherished Memories Funeral Services, located at 591 Centennial Dr. N in Martensville.
