Obituary

Our loving husband and father passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, and is now eternally at peace with his loving Father in Heaven.

Wilfred worked hard all his life, spending many of those years working two jobs. As a heavy-duty mechanic, he worked at Coyle Chev Olds in Humboldt before beginning a 33-year career at the Lanigan Potash Mine. During the summers, he also worked as a farmhand, a job he truly enjoyed. Wilfred loved being outdoors and working on the land. His other passions included fishing and hunting, and he cherished the time spent pursuing these activities.

In his later years, Wilfred and his wife enjoyed taking many winter vacations to Mexico, creating wonderful memories together.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 60 years, Minna; his children, Lori (Paul), Ron (Kelly), and Dwayne (Christina); his grandchildren, Andrew, Donnovan, Allyssa, Janessa, Madison, and Dagean; and his great-grandson, Logan.

Wilfred was the eldest of nine children. He was predeceased by his parents, Kathleen and Albert; his brothers, Ronald and Donald; and his sisters, Linda and Kathie.

Left to cherish Wilfred’s memory are his siblings, Brian (Stella), Brenda (Wes), Christine, and Albert (Heather), along with their families, as well as many dear friends.

Wilfred will be lovingly remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of the outdoors, and the many memories he created with his family and friends. His life was a blessing to those who knew and loved him, and his memory will remain in their hearts forever.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday August 24, 2026 at Cherished Memories Funeral Services, 591 Centennial Drive North, in Martensville, Sk.

Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Saskatoon after the service.

Cherished Memories is honored to have been entrusted with Wilfred's care and service arrangements.
