With deep sadness the family of Veronica Anne (nee Macala) Cowell of Saskatoon SK announces her passing on February 4th, 2026. Veronica was a loving wife, a caring mother, and a steadfast friend to many.

Born on October 23 1963 in Invermay SK to Mike and Mary (nee Fidek) Macala, Veronica was known for her unending love of family and friends, unparalleled work ethic for any endeavour she took on, and her eternally positive outlook that touched the lives of all around her. Her passing came surrounded by friends and family after a brief battle with Creutzfeld-Jakob Disease.

Veronica is survived by her husband Bruce and son Nicholas.

Left to cherish her memory are her siblings Joe and Leslie Macala; Bernie Macala; Agnes Macala; Anthony and Valerie Macala; Bernadette and Duane Pochylko; Stan and Peggy Macala; and Monica Fiala.

Left to remember her dearly are her siblings-in-law Ralph and Sandra Cowell; Vickie and Steve Fachini.

Left to keep her memory are her nieces and nephews Rachael Macala; Kurtis Mansfield, Kristopher Mansfield; Melissa Perry, Michael Macala; Drew Pochylko, Chase Pochylko; Ryan Macala, Kelsey Macala; Lee Fiala, Brooke Lyn Fiala; Bryan Cowell, Krista McCann; Scott Limon; Megan Fachini.

Veronica is predeceased by her parents Mike and Mary Macala, her brother Dominic Macala, her brother-in-law Robert Cowell, her sister-in-law Caroline Limon, her niece Megan Macala, and her nephews Dillon Pochylko and Mathew Macala.

Veronica's memorial service will be held on February 21, 2026 at 1:00pm at Cherished Memories Funeral Home in Martensville SK. Veronica was taken from us far too soon, but her incredible and unique spirit will live on in the many who's lives she touched.
