Thomas Dawson Rutherford

Tom Rutherford, 69, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on September 19, 1955, in Hawkesbury, ON, Tom built a life filled with warmth, humour, and steady kindness. He shared 43 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Linda Rutherford, and was a devoted father to Claire Marentette (David) and John Rutherford (Susan). He cherished every moment with his grandsons, Logan and Carter.

He is survived by his sisters, Dawn (Peter) and Ellen (Rick), and their families, and was predeceased by his parents, Naomi and John.

After a decades-long career with Applied Industrial Technologies, Tom embraced retirement by fostering puppies, spending time with his faithful dog, Franny, traveling, and cheering on his grandkids at soccer games. He loved nothing more than a day on the golf course with friends and family.

Tom will be remembered for his easy laugh, generous spirit, and the way he made people feel at home wherever he was. He showed by example how to live with integrity, enjoy life’s simple pleasures, and put loved ones first.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan, allocated to the Saskatoon Cancer Center.
