With hearts full of gratitude to God and in total submission to His divine will, we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, husband, and friend, Surveyor Elder Stephen Oluwasanmi Ayotunde ORANGUN (Baba Cadastral). He transitioned peacefully unto glory in his sleep in the early morning of Friday, January 30, 2026, at his home in Saskatoon, Canada.
Born on January 8, 1951, in the famous town of Erin-Ijesa, Osun State, Nigeria, Baba Cada lived a life of profound purpose and unwavering faith. He was a beacon of light, survived by his lovely wife, wonderful children, and beautiful grandchildren, all of whom were the cherished beneficiaries of his boundless love.
Daddy was an astute lover of God and humanity. His entire life was a living testament to the scripture of loving one’s neighbor as oneself. A man of extraordinary selflessness, he consistently placed the needs of others before his own. Whether it was through wise counsel, generous support, or a simple act of kindness, he gave quietly and without expectation of return. His generosity knew no bounds, extending from his immediate family and community to the global work of the Lord, which he supported with a joyful and faithful heart.
As a registered Land Surveyor and retired lecturer, he shaped both the land and minds entrusted to him. The endearing name “Baba Cadastral,” given by his students, speaks volumes of the respect and affection he commanded. He was not just a teacher of theories but a mentor in life, guiding with patience, integrity, and a deep commitment to the success of others. His professional legacy is etched not only in surveys and maps but in the character of countless professionals he mentored.
Baba Cadastral will be greatly remembered by all who had the privilege of being touched by his grace, wisdom, and gentle spirit. His was a life of impact—direct and indirect—a ripple effect of goodness that will continue for generations.
We find profound comfort in our faith. He is not dead but resting in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ, where there is no more pain, only perfect peace. We hold steadfast to the blessed hope of a glorious reunion, where we will meet to part no more.
The scriptures in II Timothy 4:7 - I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Daddy, You came, you Saw and you conquered. Sleep on Baba Cadastral.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 5, at 10:00 a.m. at Cherished Memories Funeral Services, 591 Centennial Drive North, Martensville, Saskatchewan. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Village of Vanscoy Cemetery.
