Spencer Philip Wayne Golding

November 17, 1951 — December 14, 2025

Spencer Golding was born on November 17, 1951, and was raised on the family farm in McDowell alongside his parents and five siblings. Those early years shaped the hardworking, generous, and caring man that so many came to know and love.

In 1971, Spencer met the love of his life, Cheryl. They were married on July 14, 1973, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned 52 years. Together, they made their home in Martensville, where Spencer built the house they lived in until his passing—a testament to his skill, dedication, and pride in providing for his family.

A mechanic by trade, there was very little dad couldn’t fix or figure out. His hands were rarely still, and his passion for woodworking resulted in many beautiful, handmade pieces of furniture that will be cherished for generations as lasting reminders of his talent and care.

He was known by many as a kind, selfless, and deeply caring man. He would do anything and everything for anyone, never hesitating to lend a hand, offer advice, or simply be there when someone needed him.

Spencer was predeceased by his parents, Edwin and Millicent Golding; his parents-in-law, Herb and Mabel Thurstan; and his brothers-in-law, Baddis Hinks and Derald Groff.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Cheryl; his daughters, Lisa and Kathy; his son-in-law, Barret; and his beloved grandchildren, Mckenna (Jedd), Owen, Colby, and Riley.

He is also survived by his siblings: Edwin (Flo), Sharon (Dennis), Curtis (Rose), Sheryl (Wayne), and Sheldon (Corrine); his sisters-in-law, Marlene (Doug), Peggy, Eilleen (Grant), and Barb; along with many cherished nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Spencer’s wishes, no formal service will be held. Family and friends will gather to remember and celebrate his life at a get-together in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation.

The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Martensville First Responders for their care, compassion, and all they did.

Cherished Memories Funeral Services in honoured to be entrusted with Mr. Spencer Golding's care and arrangements.
