Passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, in her home in Waldheim, Saskatchewan.

Shirley is lovingly remembered by her husband, Don Skinner; her daughter Erica Jacobs (Robbie Jacobs) and cherished grandson Chael Jacobs; her stepson Daryl Skinner (Ramona Skinner) and grandchildren Kaylin and Cameron; and her stepdaughter Crystal Nett (Terry Nett).

Shirley cherished her dearest siblings (Lydia Gobeil and Terry Yablonski) and their families whom she loved dearly. Their conversations and memories will never be forgotten. They offered her strength and courage that she was so very grateful for.

Shirley dedicated over 27 years to the Sask Valley School Division, a career that brought her immense pride and joy. Her deep commitment to education and the smiling faces she encountered daily were at the heart of her professional life, which she continued to pursue part time even after retirement. She truly loved her work and the meaningful friendships it nurtured.

Beyond the classroom, Shirley found joy in the simple pleasures of life — a lunch date, a quick coffee visit, and heartfelt conversations. She deeply loved her grandchildren, always taking pride in their accomplishments, cheering them on from the sidelines or from afar.

Her visits to Labrador held a special place in her heart and continue to be fondly remembered by all who shared those moments with her.

A private family farewell was held on May 18, 2025, honouring the life and love of our beloved Shirley.

She will be forever missed and lovingly remembered. Love you momma, Erica
