Obituary

Sasha McCorriston was born on November 2, 1989, in Saskatoon, SK, to his loving parents Colin & Holly McCorriston (née DeSchryver). He was the youngest boy of their four children and is survived by his parents, two older brothers, and one younger sister, all residing around the Saskatoon area: Damian; Channing (Jenna) and children Miley, Reese, and Ace; and Shaelyn (Brian & Audrina) and daughter Autumn, who was very special to Sasha. He is also survived by his two beautiful daughters whom he loved very much: Adelaide Manuel, who resides with her mom Krystal in Edmonton, and Amari Dumont, who is raised by Shaelyn and her family at Sasha’s request.

Sasha was a very good-looking guy. When he was born, Grandma Clementine immediately commented, “Wow, he’s not gonna have to take a back seat to his brothers, that’s for sure.” We enrolled him in modeling at a very young age. He worked as a double for the main actor in the movie The Impossible Elephant, which was a great experience that gave him the chance to spend time with and sleep near the elephant.

Sasha was raised in the Silverwood area for seven years before moving to Martensville. In his early years, he played hockey for the Raiders and later with the Martensville Marauders. He also enjoyed baseball and ball hockey, making lasting friendships through sports and video games. He treasured memories of vacations with close friends and family.

Sasha loved art and music, finding happiness singing karaoke with his dad. His love of music led him to spend time creating and recording his own songs. He cherished his time bonding with Damian through disc golf, football, and mixing music. He also enjoyed attending music festivals, cooking, playing cards and board games, riding sleds and quads, sitting around the fire, fishing, drawing graffiti, and painting.

In 2004, the family moved to the farm near Warman, where Sasha spent most of the rest of his life. He graduated from Warman High School and went on to take a crane operating course. He spent time working in the Saskatoon and Lloydminster areas with our family business. He was very proud of "The Container Guy" business that our family established. He was particularly impressed by Channing's creation of his YouTube channel. Recently, Sasha enrolled in an online computer course to further his education.

Sasha was quiet yet very sociable, with friends of all ages. He always made everyone feel comfortable and never left anyone out. Sasha had a unique bond with his mom, Holly, and a special connection with family friend Michelle, whom he referred to as his second mom. He was a very kind and gentle soul who accepted everyone without judgment, though he did experience periods of sadness and spent time working on his mental health.

Sasha was taken from us suddenly on March 8, 2026, due to carbon monoxide poisoning at our family home. He will be deeply missed by his parents, grandparents, siblings, children, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He will never be forgotten for his playful smirk, his sense of humour, his love of animals, and his gentle kindness. Though his life was cut short, he lives on through his children.

For now, Sasha is resting with his deceased family members - Grandpa Leslie, Grandma Bernice, and Uncle Richard McCorriston - at Quill Lake. When the new family house is built and the family can be near him, the farm will be his final resting place.

A celebration of Sasha’s life will be held at a later date.

Cherished Memories is honoured to be entrusted with Mr. Sasha McCorriston's care and arrangements.
