With deep sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Rick Pozniak on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
Rick was born in Saskatoon and grew-up on a farm near Dalmeny before later settling in Martensville. Rick was a proud employee of Acklands Grainger for 35 years. A devoted sports fan, he loved playing hockey, fastball, slo-pitch with the Go Getters and curling. His passion for the Blue Jays and Roughriders was outmatched only by his lifelong loyalty to the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Rock had a huge heart and loved to ‘open the garage’ to anyone for Rider games or anyone just passing by. He always ensured to have Freezies on hand for any kids or dog treats for any puppies passing by as well as the best manicured lawn on the block. Yet, nothing brought Rick greater joy than time with his nieces and nephews. Their smiles and laughter lit him up, reflecting the special bond they shared.
Left to cherish Rick’s memory are his parents, John and Tracy; brother Brian (Sue); brother Ken (Sarah); niece Ashlee (Wade); nephew Shelby (Emily); niece Whitney (Dan); nephew Taylor (Stephanie); niece Jade; niece Dylan; and by his great-nieces and great-nephews Daireli, Ayvee, Kade, Anna, Jack, Samuel and Lincoln.
A come and go celebration of life for Rick will be held on Sunday, September 7th, 2pm - 4pm at the New Horizons Seniors Center, 106 4 Avenue North, Martensville. Rick would encourage you to wear your Rider green.
