Otto passed away the morning of August 18 at home with his wife and love of his life, Terry, after a courageous 15 month battle with esophageal cancer.
Otto loved life. And he loved to laugh. He loved music, making art, gardening and cooking (and he was a fantastic cook). Most of all he loved his friends and family.
Otto came to Canada from Czechoslovakia at the age of 8 in 1968.
He worked numerous jobs - at the Potash mine, as a DJ, as a musician, as a shoe salesman, as owner of his own deli - Speedy Gourmet, at the City of Saskatoon and lastly as owner of Speedy Hauling and Yard Services.
Otto was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his father, Otto Sr, his mother Anna, his mother-in-law Bharbara Brown, and sister-in-law Debbie LaRocque.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years Terry Schwalm, sister-in-law Sheri Boegli, brothers-in-law Larry Boegli and Kelly LaRocque. As well as nephews in-law Brent, Brandan and Colin; Brent’s children Lincoln, Layton and Alice; and Brandan’s wife Cristina and their children Sophia and Isabelle.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Amigos Cantina on Dufferin Ave on Monday, August 31, 2026 from 2-5pm.
In lieu of flowers, please plant a tree or have a good meal with friends.
Cherished Memories is honoured to be entrusted with Mr. Otto Tresher's care and arrangements.
