It is with sadness that we share the passing of Olive Grace Lalonde (Kozak) on December 5, 2025.
Olive was a whirlwind of energy always on the go and when she entered a room everyone around her felt like family. Olive was born on October 1, 1939. Her life began on the family farm near Tway, SK a place where she grew up and never lost connection with. Olive went to school in the Tway area making many friends and connections that would last a lifetime. Olive loved animals and was so kind to them; they always had a special place in her heart. She loved curling and dancing from a young age as they were her passion. As the years passed, she always enjoyed watching curling but never stopped dancing and polka right into her later years being a regular at the Saskatoon Legion.
Olive loved to drive and travel; she was always on the move. Her points record was probably flawless respecting the rules of the road seeing Canada from one end to the other. Olive had many friends and knew their phone numbers by heart. She was always doing her best to be in contact with them and her phone call would always make someone’s day as you always knew she cared.
Olive eventually moved to Saskatoon with her young family. She worked hard and provided to give her kids the best life she could. She had various jobs in her early life but in 1988 she found her forever career when she started work at the Saskatoon Airport for boarding security. Olive loved that job because she loved people and always enjoyed interacting with them. She would stay at this career long past retirement age because she didn’t want to leave the people. That was Olive a people person through and through.
Olive was proud, beautiful, courteous, respectful, always on the ball, she was already an Angel for God, she just never knew it yet but everyone around her knew she was a different soul.
Olive always had the best interest of her children and their spouses in mind; she made sure they all felt part of the family, and no one went without knowing that. Olive loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren doing her best to stay connected with them in her own way in this new age. Olive forever put her kids and grandchildren first even as they became adults, they were always her kids in her eyes. She was always giving what she could when she could. Everyone will always remember her get togethers for lunch or supper; she was always keeping all us kids connected and family together. We will never forget her calls to make sure everyone was safe no matter how faraway we were she was always looking out for us.
Olive's parents and sisters meant the world to her. Family always came first. They were always there for each other and always came up in a conversation. Olive would always make her way back to the family farm on weekends or whenever she could visit and helped to make it part of her children's childhood. As times went on and her mother Helen eventually moved to Wakaw Olive was always there bringing the grandchildren to visit. Everyone in the family will forever remember all the amazing Christmas Eves spent in Wakaw as they will be memories none of us will ever forget.
Olive will be missed but her memory never forgotten. Olive was truly one of the good ones who we strive to emulate; to be even a quarter of who she was would mean you were incredible. Life can be interpreted by love and tragedy; Olive had her share of those moments, but she pushed through. In the end she had the right people around her in partner, friends and family. Olive now is with some of them on the other side. Olive will be lovingly remembered for her gentle spirit and the warmth she brought to those around her. She will be deeply missed. May she rest in peace.
Love You Mom.
