It is with deep sadness that the family of Murray James Hingston announce his passing. Murray will be fondly remembered as a Loving father, proud grandfather, and dear friend to many whose lives he touched throughout the years.

Murray was born in Saskatoon and raised in and around Asquith, he lived all his life in Saskatchewan. He worked in the tire industry where he moved up to become a master craftsman. Murray also loved working on cars, finding some old beater in a field buying it for cheap and getting it running again and usually changing out a door or fender and leaving it a different colour mortifying his children to be seen it. Often afterwards he would sell it cheap to a friend or family member who needed a vehicle and move on to the next project.

Murray had a wonderful sense of humour and loved to laugh, joke around, and tell stories. He had a way of making people feel welcome and entertained, and conversations with him were never short on wisdom or a good chuckle.

He loved the outdoors and found great joy in hunting, fishing, and camping. Murray also had a special love for animals, especially dogs and cats, and there was almost always a cat nearby keeping him company.

Murray leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, hard work, and unforgettable stories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A service in Murray’s memory will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Cherished Memories Funeral Home in Martensville, Saskatchewan.
