Michel Sylvain Proulx

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michel Sylvain Proulx, on August 8th, 2025, Michel (Mike) surrounded by his family, lost his long and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 68.

Michel was born in Chelmsford Ontario, on May 29, 1957, to the late Aline (Bradley) and late Conrad Proulx. He was the eldest of five children. Michel attended elementary and secondary school in Azilda Ontario and then graduated from Cambrian College in Sudbury with a diploma in Geology.

Lucie (Morrissette) and Michel married in 1980 and moved to Saskatoon Saskatchewan. They then moved to Warman in 1988, where they raised their family and currently reside.

Michel first worked for Amok Ltd., an exploration geology company, and then moved on to work for Cameco where he retired in 2018 after twenty-seven years of service.

Michel played slow-pitch and volleyball in the Warman recreation leagues. Michel loved hunting, fishing and camping, and was always first on the scene to help friends and neighbors. He thoroughly enjoyed playing cards and board games.

Michel is survived by his loving wife Lucie; son, Sylvain (Loretta); daughter, Angele (Eric) Boychuk; grandchildren, Logan and Audrey; sister, Louise; brothers, Andre (Francine) and Daniel (Michel); brothers-in-laws, Paul (Lise) Morrissette and Patrick (Kim) Morrissette; sisters-in-laws, Francine (Denis) Larocque, Diane (Claude) Lamontagne, Gisele Morrissette, Monique (James) O’Hare and numerous nieces and nephews.

Michel was predeceased by his brother, Pierre; his sister-in-law, Karen; his niece, Sophie; and his parents-in-law, Carmen and Emile Morrissette.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

The Proulx Family wishes to express their appreciation to Home Care, to the Cancer Clinic, to St. Paul’s Palliative Care, to Warman Diamond Pharmacy as well as all the health care personnel who showed such care and benevolence to Michel.

Martens Warman Funeral Home in honoured to be entrusted with the care and arrangements for Michel.
