Marjorie Lee Steel

Marjorie Steel passed away peacefully after a long battle with liver failure. Marge passed away on May 17, 2025, at St. Paul's Hospital Palliative Care unit.

Marge is survived by her life partner, Stan Penner; her three children, Norm (Barb), Sheryl (Roger), and Gord; and seven grandchildren. She is also survived by three siblings, Wayne (Dayna), Shirley, and Peggy (Ron), and numerous nieces and nephews. Marge was predeceased by her parents, Gertie and Albert, and her siblings, Barry, Rodney, Terry, and Kenny.

Marge was born in Big River, Saskatchewan, and lived in the block for the first few years of her life before moving to Saskatoon. When Marge was 16, she married Gary Steel, and they had three children: Sheryl, Norm, and Gord. Marge spent most of her life as a homemaker. Marge and Gary divorced in 2018.

Marge later met Stan Penner, and they quickly discovered many shared interests. They enjoyed taking road trips, exploring, and taking photographs; they also loved playing cards and entertaining friends and family. Family and baking were very important to Marge. Marge's favourite pastimes included Kaiser and bingo.

Marge's wishes were for cremation and burial with her parents. She did not wish for a funeral service; therefore, a private gathering for immediate family will be held at a later date.
