Lorna Svennes (Ward), 81 years of age, of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025. Lorna was born in Tisdale, SK. on March 20, 1944. Lorna graduated from PPCHS in 1978, returning to finish her schooling after raising her children.
Lorna was married to Merle (Bill) Svennes on January 20, 1962; they were married 45 years before Bill's passing. They resided and raised their children in the Porcupine Plain/Chelan area before retiring.
Lorna worked as a commercial cook for a number of years before retiring to care for Bill in Crooked River, SK. She enjoyed reading, crafting, and looking after her grandchildren. She was also involved in Air Cadets and 4-H when her children were growing up and was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion.
Lorna is survived by her children Terry (Ralph), Gerald (Jaime) and Tammy (Jay). Her grandchildren Haley (Rory), Shawn, Jessica (Cody), Michael, Marissa, Ross (Claire) and Breanna as well as great-grandchildren Kit (Haley & Rory), and Sadie (Jessica & Cody) and her beloved cat Lady Jane.
Lorna is preceded in death by her parents William and Sadie Ward, her husband Merle (Bill) Svennes and brothers Dave, Bill and Edward Ward.
The family of Lorna wishes to thank St. Paul's Palliative Care Unit and the amazing staff for the care and comfort they provided for her. As well as Cherished Memories Funeral Services of Martensville, SK.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and the Palliative Care Unit at St. Paul's Hospital can be made in honour of Lorna.
