Obituary

Loriann Elise Williams of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026.

Loriann was born on September 12, 1957, at McKellar Hospital in Fort William, Ontario. She came home to a growing family of ten, which would end with a family of twelve siblings.

As an infant, Loriann survived an electrical fire and suffered burns to her face and hands. Her family rallied around her then, just as they continued to do throughout her life. Her spirit was strong, and her determination to overcome adversity was even stronger.

Loriann attended McKellar Park Central Public School and graduated from Northwood High School. Following graduation, she worked as a bank teller, a role she enjoyed and took great pride in.

As a teenager, Loriann was confirmed in the Christian faith at St. Luke’s Anglican Church. Her faith in God sustained her through her cancer diagnoses in 2019 and again in 2024. Loriann always felt a strong connection to God, and her faith provided comfort, strength, and peace during life's most difficult moments.

Loriann met Ronald Hainstock and they welcomed two children: Diane Elise, born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and Timothy Arthur, born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. In 1984, Ron's work brought the family to Saskatoon, where Loriann devoted herself to raising her young family. Her children were the center of her world, and she found great joy in watching them grow. Though the marriage ended, they shared many meaningful years together raising their beloved children.

The marriage of her daughter Diane to James was a particularly special occasion for Loriann. She was overjoyed to become a grandmother to Kate and Grace. Loriann poured her heart into being the best Grandma she could be, attending concerts, plays, dance recitals, and competitions. She was present for every milestone and treasured every moment spent with her girls.

When Tim found his calling as a CN train engineer, Loriann was immensely proud that he had found a career he loved. She enjoyed spending time with him and his beloved cats. Tim was a steady and caring presence in her life, supporting and caring for her right to the very end.

Loriann's life revolved around both her immediate family, and her large extended family spread across Canada. She was a gentle, sensitive soul with a kind heart, deeply loved by all who knew her.

Loriann is survived by her daughter, Diane; son-in-law, James Reaser; and her cherished granddaughters, Kate and Grace; and son, Tim Hainstock. She is lovingly remembered by her sisters Sandra, Brenda, Velda, M. Denise, and D. Michele; her brothers J. Brent, Walter, Shaun, and Darryl; and their families. She also leaves behind her many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, numerous cousins, and her dear friend, Grace Dobson. She was predeceased by her parents, Dolores (née Holowka) and Douglas Earl Williams; her brothers, Lawrence, Robert, and Douglas Jr.; and her life partner, Terry Shore.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Manna at the Saskatoon Cancer Centre and to the Palliative Care Team at St. Paul's Hospital for their compassionate care and support.

Loriann will be interred with her parents in the Williams Family Plot at Mountain View Cemetery in Thunder Bay on June 24, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.

Those wishing to attend are invited to wear the bright colours and patterns that Mom was so fond of, as a celebration of her life and spirit.

Forever loved, forever remembered.
