Obituary

Lindsay Perry, age 75, a lifelong learner, devoted educator, and the guy who has more goofy pictures in a yearbook than any student, officially stepped out of the classroom for his final recess on September 27th, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer.

Lindsay spent his life shaping young minds across Saskatchewan. His teaching journey spanned 42 years across six different communities - an impressive tour of the province that left hundreds of students better off. He leaves behind a legacy of lost keys, empty tupperware containers and an excessive amount of water bottles.

For Lindsay, teaching was never just a job or a paycheck; it was his calling, his purpose, and the thread that defined his life. As a fiercely competitive Phys Ed teacher with a legendary devotion to floor hockey, he was never above diving across a gym floor or throwing a check to secure a win. Yet for all his competitive drive, his real superpower was how he treated his students -as actual people whose respect was meant to be earned, never demanded. It was that deep connection with his students that made him look forward to every September with the wide-eyed enthusiasm of a kiddo on their very first day of school.

He will be forever missed by his most cherished support team - the ones who kept him grounded, loved him unconditionally, and spent decades helping him hunt for lost golf balls: his beloved wife, Laurie; his sons and daughters-in-law, Keith & Brooke and Mark & Lonetta; and his four favorite kiddos, his grandchildren: Peyton, Kallum, Terren, and Charlie whom he “loved to bits!”; his 3 sisters and their husbands, Elaine & Larry Hartl, Judy & Larry Wheaton, Joy & Dennis Karakochuk; Laurie’s siblings and spouses, Jan & George Watson, Brian & Jo-Ann Graham, Wendy & Wayne Sherar, and Randy & Laureen Graham.

Lindsay was predeceased by his parents George & Olive Perry, his brother Ron Perry, his mother in law Lee Graham, and his niece Marina Hamblin.

"A teacher affects eternity; one can never tell where their influence stops." Lindsay’s influence will echo in the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the family he cherished.

Class is officially dismissed, Lindsay. You passed with flying colours.

A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at The Stone Church in Wishart at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to KidSport in memory of Lindsay.

Cherished Memories is honoured to be entrusted with Mr. Linday Perry's care and arrangements.
