Obituary

Our family is saddened to announce the passing of Les MacLeod in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on March 10, 2026, at the age of 65.

Les was the beloved husband of Darcy MacLeod (Stubbs); cherished father of Geoffrey MacLeod and Mark MacLeod (Mallory Maloof); and proud grandfather of Bennett and William MacLeod, the little lights of his life.

He was the son of the late Clarence Earl MacLeod and Beverly Jean MacLeod (née Moore), originally of Craik, Saskatchewan, and later Saskatoon. Les was also the son-in-law of the late William Lyle Stubbs and Elizabeth Stubbs (née Shields). He was a dear brother to Gregory MacLeod (Marilyn, née Cheyne) and a close uncle to Riley and Brooklyn MacLeod and Kimberly Stubbs. He will also be fondly remembered by his brothers- and sisters-in-law David Stubbs of Penticton, British Columbia; June Stubbs of Saskatoon; and Gordon Stubbs (Valerie, née Nash) of Rosetown, Saskatchewan, as well as many cousins and extended family members, and his loyal dogs, Teddy and Bear.

Throughout his career in telecommunications, Les lived and worked in both Saskatoon and Airdrie, Alberta, travelling extensively throughout Saskatchewan and Manitoba. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending summers with family at the cabin at Lake Diefenbaker, where the family has gathered for more than half a century and where friendly competition grew over the years with the addition of a mini putt course, bocce court, and pickleball court.

Les will be remembered for his quiet humour, steady presence, and deep love for his family. The lake, family gatherings, and time with his grandchildren were among the greatest joys of his life.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for Les with compassion.

Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to Cherished Memories Funeral Home in Martensville. A celebration of life will be held this summer.
