Leslie (Les)
Harris
November 20, 1944 – June 6, 2026
A life long learner, a man of endless curiosity and many talents, Leslie Howard Harris, passed away in palliative care at Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon SK, on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
Les was born in 1944, near Bexhill, SK, in the Wood Mountain region of southern Saskatchewan, to parents Fred and Dorothy (Zaron) Harris.
The Harris family: sister Kay, and brothers Dale, Gery, Ross and Les moved shortly after Leslie was born to Guernsey, SK. Sister Debra was born over a decade later. Following elementary schooling in Guernsey, Lanigan Central High School was where Les completed Grade 12.
Les was fiercely independent and not afraid to be out of step with conventional thinking. He worked at many endeavors in both Saskatchewan and in British Columbia, able to turn his hand at whatever caught his interest. Les found his niche, for nearly two decades, as a potter creating functional tableware and decorative items.
Always keen about nature, Les’s yard in Saskatoon will continue to produce apples, plums, raspberries, grapes, and even apricots that he grafted onto a hardy plum rootstock. Although no partridge was ever spotted, the Uri Pear tree has, in years previous, produced over a dozen sweet pears!
Les is survived by sister Debra of Grande Prairie; brother Gery and sister-in-law Audrey of Brandon, Manitoba; sister-in-law Melody Harris of Saskatoon; many nieces & nephews, and great nieces & nephews spread across western Canada.
Thank you to the many doctors, nurses, care aides, CPAS staff and emergency medical responders who cared for Leslie through his challenge with the rare and terminal condition of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
Leslie requested cremation and that his ashes be spread privately.
Cherished Memories is honoured to be entrusted with Mr. Les Harris' care and arrangements.
