Keith Leslie Thompson

March 13, 1954 — October 20, 2025

The trucking community lost one of the good ones, as one of their own took his final long haul into the great beyond. His logbook had run out of hours and it was time to rest.

Keith Leslie Thompson, 71, of Martensville, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025 surrounded by family.

Keith was born on March 13, 1954 to Chester and Veronica (Ronnie) Thompson in Loon Lake, Saskatchewan, He spent his youth there causing mischief until he moved with his family to Saskatoon in 1973. Loon Lake held a special place in his heart until he passed including a trip in August for Loon Lake’s 75th Homecoming where he saw so many friends from the past.

In 1975, Keith met Gail Kardash in Saskatoon and were married shortly later on May 29, 1976. Keith and Gail went on to have three children, Dorinda, Dallon and Diandra. They moved to Martensville in 1982 where he continued to live until his passing.

Keith started helping his dad with his trucking company at the age of 14. He went on to drive for 56 years seeing a lot of North America.

In his later years, Keith spent many winters with friends and family in El Centro, California. This was truly his happy place where we liked to refer to him as California dad.

Keith was predeceased by his parents Chester and Veronica, various aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Gail, children, Dorinda Thompson of Martensville, Saskatchewan, Dallon (Jennifer) Thompson of Burlington, Ontario, Diandra (Anthony) Sorge of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, grandchildren Decker Thompson- Wiebe, Alexandra and Benjamin Thompson, sisters Donna (Allan) Henry and Susan (Larry) Senger, many nieces and nephews and the family dog Tilly.
