Joni Llyn
Hammond
May 21, 1981 – March 8, 2026
The family of Joni Llyn Hammond announces her passing on March 8, 2026, at the age of 44.
Joni was born on May 21, 1981, and grew up surrounded by family, laughter, and a strong sense of connection to those she loved. She graduated with her Grade 12 diploma in 1999 before continuing her education at Bible School in Pambrun. Joni later pursued Architectural Engineering studies in Moose Jaw, reflecting her curiosity, creativity, and drive to explore new opportunities.
Throughout her life, Joni lived and worked in several communities including Regina, Prince Albert, Saskatoon, and Frontier, where she worked at Honeybee. Wherever she went, she built friendships easily and brought energy, humour, and warmth to those around her.
Joni had a deep love for the outdoors and for adventure. She enjoyed camping, quadding, road trips, boating, fishing, and swimming. She loved sports and competition, spending time playing basketball, volleyball, and slow pitch. She also had a creative side and enjoyed sewing, and she was known for her fun-loving spirit — including her well-known love of driving fast and enjoying life to the fullest.
Above all, Joni cherished time with her family. Her nieces and nephews brought her great joy, and she treasured the moments spent together creating memories. She also had a special place in her heart for her beloved cats, Stinker and Missy.
Joni will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Rod and Dawn Hammond; her sisters Taneile Hammond and daughter Loretta, Kim and Dave Shadlock and their children Colten, Danica, Kaisley, Trey, and Emma, and Dalain Hammond and her children Katie and Rodney, Casey and Dally Francis (Jack Francis); and by her brother Curtis and Caitlin Hammond and their children Dylan and Hallie. She will also be remembered by many extended family members, friends, and all who were fortunate to know her.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026, in Cherished Memories Funeral Chapel, 591 Centennial Drive North, Martensville.
