It is with deep love and sadness that the family of Joan Ann Baronowsky (née Millar) announces her passing on September 1, 2025, at the age of 78.
Joan was born on November 14, 1946, in Turtleford, SK, to George and Verna Millar and grew up in North Battleford, SK. A talented singer, she shared her gift of music in choirs and at special events, including weddings. After completing her business diploma, she met the love of her life, David Joseph Baronowsky, in North Battleford. They were married on December 5, 1964, and together built a beautiful life and family. Their journey took them to Hafford, Yorkton, and ultimately Saskatoon, where they raised their children.
Joan’s greatest joy was being a mother and later a grandmother. She always dreamed of having a big family, and her life was filled with the love, laughter, and warmth of the home she created. She was the best, most supportive, kind, and caring mother and grandmother, remembered for her kindness, loyalty, strength, and the joy she brought to so many family and friends.
Joan is survived by her children: Dana Baronowsky, Todd (You Mi) Baronowsky, Tara (Gary) Gehring, and Tricia Baronowsky; her grandchildren: Tristan (Robert) Campbell, Tyler (Candace) Baronowsky, Emily Baronowsky, Jack Gehring, Ivor Gehring, Ciara Herrod, Kaeden Herrod, Asher Herrod, and Gabrielle Herrod; and her great-granddaughters: Remi and Mila. She is also survived by her sister Betty (Andrew) Leslie, her aunt Donna (Dino) Baggio, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband David on September 12, 2019, and her parents, George and Verna Millar.
A funeral service and burial will be held in Richard, SK, on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.
