Celebration of Life
Cardinal Wedding venue
2:00 - 3:00 pm (Central (no DST) time)
It is with heavy hearts, the family of Jim Jewsbury announce his passing on February 10, 2026, at the age of 71. Jim is survived by his wife, Janie and his 2 fine sons, Michael (wife Brooke) and Mark. He also leaves behind his brother, Bob (wife Olivia), brother Frank (wife Loretta), brother Fred (Margaret) and his sister Lois. Jim was very proud of each of his grandchildren – Presley, Keira, Cooper, Emily, Thomas and Jacob. He was always interested hearing about Thomas and Jacob’s hockey games, Cooper and Keira’s basketball games, Emily’s dance recitals, Presley’s paramedic training and Presley and Keira’s experiences at the pool as lifeguards.
Jim is now reunited with his parents, Endsor and Ethel, his brother, Roy, his 2 sisters, Maggie and Iris and 3 brother in laws- Ted, Rick and Tom.
Jim had a huge love for tractors but specially the CASEIH model, but the green models were not talked about much. He trained his grandchildren that the CASE model was the best. In 1973, Jim was apprenticing as a heavy-duty equipment mechanic in Killarney Manitoba, and this is where he met the love of his life, Janie. They were married July 31, 1976. In 1977, Michael was born and Mark born in 1979, both boys were born in Killarney. Jim and Janie lived in Killarney for a few years and then Jim’s career took the family to Weyburn for 6 years, Kindersley for 10 years and then Saskatoon and area until present. All his career transfers, Jim was promoted and held many different positions within the CASEIH family. With each move he met many wonderful friends, friends that were so hard to leave behind when moving on to a new location to live.
Jim was a very active member of the Wildlife Federation in Weyburn and Kindersley. Here he spent time with his special hunting buddies and was still hunting with them the past October. Jim retired in 2018 and continued to keep busy with his hobby of restoring old tractors. Giving the old tractor new life with paint and new parts and then selling to acreage owners around the area. He loved this time of his life where he could spend time in his shop. His shop was a huge highlight even though everyone thought his shop was very cluttered (which it was) he knew where to find everything.
Under that very quiet exterior there was a very humorous man. A guy that had such dry and smart wit about himself and could make everyone laugh with his one liners. The family remembers the times when he portrayed the long-lost family member - “Elmer”. His first appearance, he rode in on a bicycle at the family farm wearing mix matched clothing attending his brother, Roy’s wedding function. He made such a ruckus and everyone wondered, who is this person? He was dressed with shirt tails hanging out and plaid pants and jacket and adorned a wig. He was unrecognizable - who was this strange person crashing this wedding reception? We still remember everyone doubling over with laughter. So out of character for such a quiet guy! His second appearance, he interrupted his sister Maggie’s wedding reception. “Elmer” had not been invited and the no invite was not going to stop him. Remembering him flinging open the banquet door and being very loud and boisterous. He made people feel so uncomfortable and cringing as to what he was going to do or say next. Again, this quiet gentle man entertained everyone with so much laughter.
Jim was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, brother, brother-in-law, uncle who always cared and looked after his family and always before his own needs. He will be sadly missed by his family and his friends and leaves a huge hole in our hearts. He will never be forgotten.
