1:00 - 2:00 pm (Central (no DST) time)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerome Edmund Fischer on October 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
He will be forever loved and deeply missed by his wife of 59 years, Ludwina; his daughters Lorrinda (Randy), Teri (Trevor), and Kelli; his four grandchildren Vince, Jenna, Chloe, and Shane; siblings Alvina (David), Edwin, Patricia (Joe), Bernice, David (Cindy), Elmer (Suzanne); as well as the countless in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who were part of his life.
Jerome was predeceased by his parents Peter and Rose, sister Doreen, father-in-law Adam, mother-in law Emelia, brothers-in-law Ted, Elmer, Francis, Leonard, Michael, Ron, and sisters-in-law Leona, Jeanette, Denise, Shannon, and nephews Jason and Greg.
Jerome was born on August 5, 1946 in Macklin, Saskatchewan, where he developed a lifelong love of the land, horses, and the rural way of life. For over 25 years, he followed his dream of breeding and showing registered Quarter Horses. He was never afraid to take a chance, and his determination took him across North America, where he built a reputation as a respected breeder. While horses were Jerome’s passion, the business was not without its challenges and hardships. When the time came to make a change, Jerome embraced a new chapter in the oil patch around Macklin, bringing with him the same determination and strong work ethic that had served him so well throughout his life.
Jerome had a big personality and a way of making an impression wherever he went. He loved people, loved to visit, and had a natural ability to make friends wherever life took him. Whatever Jerome took on, he did it in his own way. His colorful language and spirited stories will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of Life for Jerome will be held on Saturday, October 24th, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, with a reception to follow.
For those unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed on the St. Anne’s website and will remain available online for those who wish to view it at a later time.
