Jennifer Mary Emel (Koenig), age 75, of Langham, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on January 26th, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
Jennifer was born on April 6th, 1950, in Provost, Alberta, to Doris and John Koenig. She began a long and dedicated career as a legal secretary, a role she carried out with pride and professionalism for many years.
In 1964, Jennifer met Albert Emel in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. Together they built a life and welcomed two children, Angela and Shelley. The family later settled in Langham, Saskatchewan.
Jennifer retired in 2005 and embraced the years that followed. Summers were spent at the family cabin at Meeting Lake, Saskatchewan, while winters for the next 15 years were enjoyed as a snowbird in Yuma, Arizona. Above all else, Jennifer cherished time with her family. She loved hosting family holidays, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and faithfully supporting her loved ones at academic and sporting events. She was also a gifted cook and baker, finding joy in quiet days at home making her well-loved buns, bread, and date cake.
She will be lovingly remembered by her loving husband, Albert Emel; her children, Angela Mossman and her partner Keith Koroll and Shelley Madsen and her partner Kris Traustason; her grandchildren Melissa Bright, Megan Blatz, Chase Mossman, Kylie Lavoie, and Reid Madsen; and her great-grandchildren Quinn Bright, Hayden Hancock, Blake Blatz, Barrett Lavoie, and Sofia Lavoie. She is also survived by her youngest brother, Trevor Koenig.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Oncology Department at Royal University Hospital, and to the doctors and nurses who cared for Jennifer with dignity and compassion during her final days.
Cherished Memories is honoured to be entrusted with the care and arrangements for Mrs. Jennifer Emel.
