Harvey Roy Janzen

Dec 31, 1942 — Feb 5, 2026

Harvey was the fourth of eight children, raised alongside his four brothers and three sisters.

He had a strong work ethic and took great pride in every job he held throughout his life. Over the years, he worked in the bush, spent time at the nickel mine in Thompson, and went on to own and operate many semi-trucks. In his later years, even after “retiring,” Harvey continued to lend a hand, helping farm for the Scragg family.

Harvey shared 61 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Carol, who survives him and will forever cherish the memories they built together. He also leaves to mourn his four children: Sandy (Keith), Tammy (Kelly), Kevin (Terri), and Lorilee (Bill).

He will be lovingly remembered by his seven grandchildren: Jami (Kaleb), Scott (Meaghan), Taylor (Dalton), Kylie (Tucker), Charlie, Kimberly (Graham), and Janelle (Brian); and his seven great-grandchildren: Peyton, Emily, Madison, Grayson, Kayla, William, and Harmony.

Harvey is also survived by his brothers Norman (Diane), Wayne (Lisa), and Terry (Connie); and his sisters Joan (Albert) Keichinger, Gertie Smith, and Linda (Wally) Dubchak. Brother-in-laws Marvin (Barbara) Penner and Lloyde Penner; Sister-in-laws Audrey (Bill) Wiens and Marion (Barry) Schiltroth. Numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Abraham and Anne Janzen; his in-laws, John and Elsie Penner; eldest brother Jim Janzen; brothers-in-law Elwood Smith, Cecil Cisna, Wayne Penner, Harvey Penner, and Elmer Penner; and sisters-in-law Eunice Janzen, Ellen Penner, and Lydia Penner, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Harvey will be remembered for his dedication to his work, his love for his family, and the quiet strength and pride with which he lived his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
