Gord lived for the outdoors and loved nothing more than a great adventure with the people he cherished. An avid hiker, mountain biker, backcountry whitewater paddler, and long ago windsurfing enthusiast, he was happiest when moving through nature. Alongside Judy, his lifetime partner, he canoed several rivers in the remote northern wilderness of Saskatchewan, pedalled countless mountain bike trails, and hiked uncountable forest and mountain trails all over the world.

Gord took great joy in sharing his passion for nature with his children Lisa and Kevin, son-in-law Jordy, and cherished granddaughter Freya. Known for his quirky sense of humour, and the ability to talk about pretty much anything, Gord leaves behind a legacy of laughter and unforgettable memories with a wide circle of special friends and family.

Preserving old-growth forests was deeply important to Gord. In his final months, he asked that those who wished to honour his memory consider making a donation to the Fairy Creek Forest Protectors Fund, a grassroots group dedicated to protecting old-growth forests. Supporting this cause would be a meaningful way to honour his values and his deep love of the natural world.
