Evelyn Buela Schneider

Evelyn Schneider, 90, passed away on November 22, 2025, with all her children lovingly gathered around her. Evelyn was born on September 13, 1935, to Arthur (Jack) and Ellen Leech in the Kelvington/Nut Lake area of Saskatchewan. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Emil; her daughter, Yvonne McCowan; her son, Sidney Schneider; her siblings, Morris and Johnny Leech and Louise Rustad; and her great-great grandson, Remington Taylor. 

She is lovingly remembered by her children Mark (Deborah), Sherry Tetland (Hans Hansen), Murray (Cheryl Hull), Doug (Sandra), and Heather (David) Reynoldson; her sisters, Connie Holtz and Jackie McNarin; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson—
with three more little ones on the way.

Evelyn graduated from the Saskatoon School for the Deaf in 1954 and made Saskatoon her home, working at McGavin's Bakery. On August 4, 1956, she married Emil, the love of her life. Just one week later, she dedicated her life to Jehovah God as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Together Evelyn and Emil built a life grounded in faith and love and raised seven children. Evelyn was a beautiful example of faith, always turning to God in prayer for strength and comfort. She was eager to share the Bible's promise for a future paradise on earth with others (Psalms 37:10, 11, 29).

Evelyn was a skilled homemaker and seamstress, an avid gardener, and a baker whose cookie jars were rarely empty. She was truly loved by everyone who knew her. Her sense of humour, her joy, and her expressiveness—both in her face and in her hands—brightened everyone's day. She took great pride in her family and cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. The family wishes to thank the staff at RUH for the excellent care given during her hospitalization. Evelyn was especially touched by those who took the time to learn to communicate with her in sign language.
