It is with the saddest of hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Ethan Robert Pederson, at the age of 20 years old, on February 3rd, 2024. Ethan was born on December 15th, 2003, to Robert Pederson and Ashley (Ritchie) Denis.
Ethan grew up in Martensville, Saskatchewan, where he spent his time playing hockey, riding his bike, quadding, dirt biking and hanging out with his friends. In the fall of 2020, Ethan moved to Brooks, Alberta, to live with his grandparents, Bob and Chris. Ethan finished high school and graduated in June of 2021. After high school, Ethan worked a few different jobs in Alberta, but he quickly found himself following in the footsteps of his dad and grandpa, by pursuing a career in powerline construction. Ethan started with Nixon Projects in Alberta and in the spring of 2022, he decided to come back to Saskatchewan to work for Valard Construction with his dad. In January of 2023, Ethan began his apprenticeship and completed his first year. At the end of 2023, Ethan decided he needed a change, so he moved back to Brooks, Alberta, to live with his grandma and grandpa again, while preparing to head back to apprenticeship school in the spring of 2024.
When Ethan wasn’t working, he was living life to the fullest, and loved to share his adventurous stories with everyone. Ethan enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, his dog Bruno, and helping his grandpa Bob. Ethan also enjoyed snowboarding in the winter, fishing and camping in the summer. Ethan was funny, witty, charming, spontaneous, and was always passionate about what he was doing. Ethan always brought uplifting energy and laughter into the room and will always be lovingly remembered for his smirky smile and his kind heart.
To cherish his memory, Ethan has left behind his parents Robert Pederson (Nicole Sauer) and Ashley Denis (Curtis), his sisters Taylor Ritchie and Rebecca Pederson, his brothers Jaxson Fontaine and Theo Pederson; his great-grandparents Ken and Joyce Cunningham; his grandparents Bob and Chris Pederson, Jack and Elaine Ritchie, and Laurie and Tony Carpenter; as well as his aunts, uncles and cousins, Aunt Linda van Vlaanderen (Paul), Morrissa, Jordin and Beau, Aunt Brenda Marks (Jesse), Destiny, Soleil (Markus), Jade, and Silas, and Aunt Tricia Pederson, Isabella and Elijah, Aunt Lisa Ritchie (Rob), Mason, Cassidy (Ruslan), Logan and Aidan, Uncle Mike Courchaine (Donna-Marie), Ashton and Jace, Aunt Roxane Courchaine (Colin).
Ethan will also be lovingly remembered by many more great aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends, and will be deeply missed by his dog Bruno.
A Celebration of Ethan’s Life will be held on Saturday, February 10th at 2:00 pm, at the Chapel of Cherished Memories, 591 Centennial Drive North, Martensville, SK. A livestream link has been set up for anyone unable to attend at https://funeraweb.tv/en/diffusions/86076
