Emily MacKenzie

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Emily (Emilia) MacKenzie on July 16, 2025 at St. Paul’s Hospital. Emily was born in Eston, Saskatchewan to Salvatore and Clotilde Mazzei. She met her husband Peter MacKenzie and settled with him in Manitouwadge, Ontario where they raised their two sons. Following Peter’s death in 1983 she eventually returned to Saskatchewan and settled in Saskatoon and Martensville where she spent time enjoying her two passions - dancing and spending time with friends and family. She also enjoyed many vacations with friends during this time.

Never one to sit still, Emily was an active volunteer through the Regional Psychiatric Centre, worked with her local Legion, and joined various boards and clubs throughout her life. Her love for music and dance kept her busy, whether she was seeking out a Polka Fest or joining the line dancers at her retirement home. Her quick wit and infectious laugh will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Emily was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1983, and her sisters Rose, Mary, Carmelina, Lucia, and Annie. She is survived by her sons Robert (Joanne) and Dale (Shawna), her grandchildren Misha (Josh), Glynna, Colm (Amethyst), Ariel, and Janaya, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
