Emil Schneider of Saskatoon, SK passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife and with family at his side on December 19, 2023 at the age of 92. He was born on May 12, 1931 to Rudolph and Mathilda Schneider in Allan, SK. He was predeceased by his daughter, Yvonne McCowan, his son, Sidney Schneider, and his sister, Theresa Martin.

Emil attended the Saskatoon School for the Deaf, graduating in 1949. At the age of 17 he learned of God’s name as found in Psalms 83:18 and this began his lifelong devotion to Bible truth. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1949 and remained a dedicated worshipper of Jehovah God for the rest of his life, encouraging all he met to study the Bible and learn about God’s Kingdom.

Throughout his life he cherished his faith and family above all else. In 1955 he met Evelyn Leech at a bus stop, and she became the love of his life. They married on August 4, 1956, and together they made a loving, comfortable home for their seven children.

Emil worked for 41 years at Intercontinental Packers until his retirement in 1993. He was well-liked by his coworkers for his work ethic and excellent sense of humour. Emil was well known in the community as a generous, humble, and dedicated man. He never hesitated to give of his time and resources to help others. He was a hard worker, self-taught in many trades, and became a master woodworker in his retirement.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years, Evelyn, his children Mark (Deborah), Sherry Tetland (Hans Hansen), Murray (Cheryl Hull), Doug (Sandra) and Heather (David) Reynoldson, his 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
