It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful mom and Baba, Elsie Ann Yasieniuk. Elsie entered eternal rest, peacefully on July 13, 2026 with her family at her bedside in Battleford Union Hospital at the age of 88.
Elsie was born on July 27, 1937 in the Oscar Lake District, to Paul and Mary Gresiuk. Elsie was the oldest of two children.
She married Paul Yasieniuk on October 15, 1955 and then joined Paul at the Yasieniuk family farm north of Hafford.
Elise was a courageous, selfless, strong, hard-working woman, who loved cooking, gardening and the country lifestyle. Her family, being Baba to her grandchildren, and neighbours were most important to her as well as her faith.
Elsie was pre-deceased by her father Paul Gresiuk, her husband Paul Yasieniuk, her mother and stepfather Mary and Slawko Ziachkowski, brother Orest Gresiuk, In-laws Kazmir and Anne Jasieniuk, along with her Babas and Gidos and numerous aunts and uncles.
Elsie will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her. She is survived by her devoted and loving four children Mervin (Rachelle) Yasieniuk, Mervianna (Shane) Keating, Brian (Darcy) Yasieniuk, Richard (Sandra) Yasieniuk.
Ten grandchildren, Tammy (Jason) Pope, Cassidy (Freya) Marchuk, Codie Kavanagh, Riley Yasieniuk, Baylie (Stewart) Trull, Rayna (Colt Cross) Yasieniuk, Tyler (Gabby) Yasieniuk, Kolten (Morgan) Yasieniuk, Justin Yasieniuk, Courtney Yasieniuk.
Five great grandchildren Savannah (Zachary) Pope Wiley, Sloane Marchuk, Caleb Marchuk, Lainey Yasieniuk, Tilly Trull, Reuben Yasieniuk.
One great, great grandchild Kayde Wiley. As well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Vigil of Prayers will be held Monday, July 20, 2026 at 7 PM at St. Solange Roman Catholic Church, 110 2nd Ave. East, Hafford Saskatchewan.
The funeral mass will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 11 AM at St. Solange Roman Catholic Church 110 2nd Ave. East Hafford Saskatchewan.
The family would like to thank Blaine Lake Ambulance Care LTD for their quick response and care to Elise. As well as the hospital staff at the Battleford Union Hospital for the care, kindness and compassion that was given to Elsie.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour Elsie’s memory are invited to make a donation to the St. Solange Church in Elsie ‘s name.
Martens Warman Funeral Home is honoured and entrusted with Elsie Yasieniuk care and arrangements.
