We announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Doreen Henchel, at the age of 86. 

Doreen was second of five daughters to Lloyd and Mabel Pederson. She was born in Geraldton, Ontario and moved to Borden, Saskatchewan in 1943 and then to Saskatoon in 1947 where she resided until 1976. In 1960 she married Ronald Wallace and they had three children, Alan (Brenda) Wallace, Scot (Tina) Wallace and Karen (Bart) Maki. Doreen graduated from Bedford Road Collegiate and Saskatoon Business College. In 1972 she was divorced and in 1974 she married Gerald Henchel and moved to Winnipeg where they owned their own farm equipment dealership. She cherished her three stepdaughters, Debbie Hintz, Cindy Good, and Pat Henchel. Doreen and Gerald retired in 1998 to Strathmore, Alberta. Doreen is predeceased by her husband Gerald Henchel, her parents Lloyd and Mabel, sister Dorothy Daoust, and one grandson Kris Wallace.

A memorial service will be held for Doreen on Thursday, August 20th, 2026 at 1:00 pm at McLure United Church.
