Denise was the eldest child, and she therefore was expected to be very responsible at a young age and helped cared for her younger siblings. She met Robert in November 1955, and on July 5, 1958, they were married. Denise was a hard worker and followed her career and education passions to the city. Over the years, Denise loved gardening, especially tomatoes, knitting, making bread, canning, and baking, playing cards and sudokus, and spending time with her children, grand and great grandchildren.
