It is with sadness that the family of Davin Peter Knorr announces his passing on November 26, 2025, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Davin was born at home on the family farm just outside Kerrobert, Saskatchewan, during a fierce blizzard. In true prairie fashion, the doctor and his Uncle Henry traveled by bombardier to bring him safely to the hospital. His mother followed the next day by train.
Davin was predeceased by his wife, June (Wozniak) Knorr; his parents, Richard and Eileen (Suaverwald) Knorr; his brothers Richard (Pat) and Dwayne (Dianna).
In his younger days, he kept himself busy helping on the farm, playing ball, and staying active in school sports. When he wasn’t on the field or the rink, he could be found cheering passionately for his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs.
Davin’s children and grandchildren brought him great joy and some of his most cherished moments were watching his boys play hockey and baseball.
Davin built a long career with CN Rail, working his way up to the role of Engineer—a position he took great pride in. Upon retirement, he often joked that he had “far too much time on his hands.”
Davin is survived by his sons Dylan (Diana) Knorr and Jared Knorr; his cherished grandchildren Gabe, Katie, Isabella, Arianna, Delilah, and Julianna. He is also survived by his sister Debbie (Greg) McDonald, his brother Derwin (Nancy) Knorr, and many nieces and nephews. May Davin find everlasting peace.
From the ashes of a life consumed by flame,
A different kind of fire whispered his name.
No longer the chains that held his spirit bound,
In the quiet of death, a grace was found.
The needle's sharp sting and the chemical haze
Are but shadows now, lost in memory's maze.
For the soul, once weary, a storm-battered wreck,
Found peace on a shore, where no tides now check.
His struggles were fierce, a war waged within,
A tale of despair, a continuous sin.
But in final surrender, the fighting all ceased,
The tormented heart was at last released.
We remember the laughter that addiction couldn't kill,
The spark in his eyes, now peacefully still.
Not defined by the darkness that led him astray,
But the glimmer of light in his last, quiet day.
For every lost dream and every silent tear,
A story of hope is now crystal clear:
He rose from the depths, though his body lies cold,
A spirit redeemed, courageous and bold.
The world may have judged, but the heavens embrace,
A journey completed, a soul finds its place.
In the arms of forever, he's finally free,
A tale of redemption for the world to see.
Cherished Memories is honoured to be entrusted with Mr. Davin Knorr's care and arrangements.
