Darlene passed away peacefully, with family by her side, at Royal University Hospital on January 24, 2026, at the age of 71. She was born on July 23, 1954.

Darlene was predeceased by her parents, Eme and Gertrude Diduck, as well as her siblings David Diduck, Victor Diduck, Violet (Diduck) Nykyforuk, and Gordon Diduck.

She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, and cousins. Darlene’s companion, Bynard Baxter, and his family will also miss her greatly.

Auntie Darlene enjoyed many things throughout her life, but spending time with family and friends was her greatest joy. No matter what she was doing, if you stopped by there was always time for a visit or a cup of coffee. Busy or not, she made time to listen and somehow always had a way of making problems seem simpler, offering advice rooted in kindness and common sense. These are the memories we will all hold onto a little tighter now.

She also loved spending time at the lake, reading, and travelling. Darlene had a special love for animals—cats or dogs, whether they were hers or not. She delighted in giving belly rubs, treats, and, most of all, love. Every animal she met felt that warmth.

Auntie, one thing is for sure, we are all going to miss you. The memories and moments we shared will be held close in our hearts. You were deeply loved and truly cherished.
