Connie Lynn Brown

June 18, 1951 — March 30, 2024

The family of Connie Brown (nee Keller, formerly Macdonald) would like to sadly announce her passing on March 30th. After a long battle with cancer, Connie passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Wadena Hospital, Connie grew up on the family farm near Nut Mountain with her parents, Wilfred and Lenore Keller, and her brothers, Dennis and Gordon. After graduating from the U of S, she began a teaching career which spanned 41 years.
Family was very important to Connie and she made sure to keep everyone close through family suppers, mother/daughter dates and keeping in touch through phone calls and texting. Connie could always be counted on to give plant care advice, help with editing homework or to share a recipe. She was an amazing cook, who was always trying new foods and made entertaining look effortless.
Connie's grandchildren were her pride and joy. She spent as much time as she could with them, playing games, going on adventures and making them special birthday cakes each year. She also was a fixture in the stands at every one of their hockey, baseball and volleyball games, cheering them on. Many summer days were spent with them by the pool in her backyard, where she took great pride in creating amazing floral planters and vegetable gardens.
Connie had a very active social life and enjoyed spending time with her friends through tennis, mahjong, bridge and book club. She was especially grateful for the friendship of Catherine Hughes and Frankie McClain.
Gerry was an amazing husband and caregiver to Connie. We will be forever grateful for how he took care of her throughout her illness, allowing her to remain in the home that they built together. We also want to acknowledge the many wonderful health care professionals, especially Dr. Russ Murphy whose expertise and kindness over the years were much appreciated.
Connie was predeceased by her parents and her older brother, Dennis. She is survived by her husband, Gerry, and her daughters - Heather Hutchison (Brad, Nora, Isla and Laina), Janine Staudinger (Rob, Elsa, Beth, Adelyn and Wesley), Kate Renneberg (Shaun, Callen and Porter), and her son, Adrian Brown (Melanie and baby due in August). She is also survived by her brother, Gordon Keller (Heather), her sister-in-law, Debbie Keller, brother-in-law, Guy Brown (Bonnie), brother-in-law, Rick Brown (Cheryl) and their families, as well as the father of her daughters, Dwight Macdonald.

A celebration of life will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church on April 10th at 2:00pm with Pastor Trent Feldstrom officiating. Cherished Memories Funeral Home of Martensville is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a cancer charity of your choice.
