It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Calvin Jahner following a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was 70 years old. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Predeceased by his father, Andrew; mother Betty; sisters, Beatrice and Lynn; and brothers, Ray, Greg, Dennis, and Dale. He is survived by his wife, Cindy; daughters, Dina (Ryan) Reiber and Caitlin (Chad) Jahner; granddaughters, Kyra, Demi, Lexa and his siblings Ron, Charlie, Marilyn (and their spouses) and many nieces and nephews.
Cal was born in Kindersley, Saskatchewan, and grew up in and around Luseland. He moved to the lower mainland of British Columbia in the 70s where he worked in the construction industry for the next 50 years. During that time, his work took him to Alberta. He wore many hats, from owning his own construction company to being a superintendent of construction in Edmonton from 2009-2020, before officially retiring and moving back to Luseland in 2020. Cal did not do this on his own; he met his wife, Cindy in 1982, and they started constructing a life together. They were avid cruisers and shared their love of sailing the Caribbean with friends and family.
Cal’s family wishes to extend their thanks and gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and staff of Royal University Hospital Unit 6100, Saskatoon Cancer Centre, Kindersley Hospital and Kerrobert and District Health Centre who cared for and supported us during these hard times.
A memorial for Cal will be held on Sunday August 3rd 2025 at 1:00pm at the Luseland Hall. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Luseland Cemetery would be greatly appreciated.
Cherished Memories is honoured to be entrusted with the care and arrangements for Cal.
