Bruce David
Himmelspach
November 8, 1964 – February 22, 2026
With heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of Bruce David Himmelspach, who peacefully passed away on February 22, 2026, at the age of 61.
Bruce was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan, to Peter Himmelspach and Dora Reinhart. He spent his early years growing up in Estevan where he enjoyed a childhood filled with adventure, family, and the freedom of small-town life. Some of his fondest memories were spent with his aunts and uncles at the family farm in St. Benedict, where time together was filled with laughter, stories, and the strong sense of family that stayed with him throughout his life.
As a boy, he could often be found riding his bike around town and proudly participating in local parades. He spent countless hours outdoors playing make-believe with friends, turning sticks into imaginary guns during their adventures. There were also the occasional mischievous moments along the way, including raiding a garden or two - stories that later became fond memories shared over the years.
At just 16 years old, he began working for Pete’s Oilfield, demonstrating the strong work ethic that remained a defining part of his character throughout his life.
Outside of work, he embraced the things he loved most. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, target shooting, and hunting, and found great joy in quadding and snowmobiling, especially when it meant spending time outdoors with friends and family. He also appreciated the simple pleasures of gathering with others - whether playing cards such as Red Whiskers or spoons, BBQ’ing, or attending meat draws at the Lloydminster Legion.
Those who knew him will remember his humour, generosity, and caring nature. He was known for being loving, giving, and hardworking, and he valued time spent with the people who meant the most to him.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children James, Tamara, and Teresa Himmelspach; his grandchildren Isabella, Chase, Ava, and Ryker; his sister Charlene Undseth (Mike); mother of his children Cheryl; his cousins Greg Himmelspach (Lauralee), Allan Himmelspach (Carrie), and Linda Sopp; his nephews Chad Himmelspach, Leif Undseth, and Torre Undseth; his dear friends Nona, Dale, Jim, and Vince; and many extended family members and friends who will treasure the memories they shared with him.
He was predeceased by his parents Dora Himmelspach and Peter Himmelspach, as well as his brothers Mark Himmelspach and Gerald Himmelspach.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. For more information, please email t.la.himmelspach@gmail.com.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the ICU staff at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon who cared for him in his final days. They would also like to extend a special thank you to his previous landlord, Connie, whose care and concern in sending him to the hospital allowed the family to share precious additional time with him.
In lieu of flowers or monetary gifts, those wishing to honour his memory are invited to consider making a donation to their local Legion branch.
The family will cherish the many stories, laughter, and memories shared with Bruce, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Cherished Memories is deeply honoured to be entrusted with Mr. Himmelspach's care and arrangements.
