Bradley Wayne Funk

July 8, 1956 — May 22, 2024

With sadness and love, the family of Bradley Wayne Funk announce his passing the evening of May 22, 2024. Most recently of Saskatoon and formerly of the Borden area, Brad was well known in his communities. Brad was respected and appreciated for his passion and horsemanship, skilful harness-making, and his talent for creating carriages. He, along with his team of Percherons, was well-known for providing sleigh rides and wagon rides year 'round in and around the Borden and Saskatoon area. Brad was a loyal and generous friend, a kind father and a lover of all animals great and small. Born in Watrous July 8th 1956 he was raised in Mayfair Saskatchewan alongside his siblings. The eldest of 5 children, Brad was predeceased by his brother Wesley Funk of Saskatoon and his parents James (Jim) and Elsie Funk of Hafford Saskatchewan. He is survived by his sisters Del Funk and Leila Currie (Finlay), brother Bernie, as well as his three children Travis Funk, Jessie Funk, and Daniel Coffey. Loved by many and loathed by few, Brad brought a hearty laugh and a colourful story to any room he was in. A lover of Western films and full of knowledge of early life on the prairies and a love of nature, he will be dearly missed by all who shared his life. His greatest love was for his family, friends, dogs, and horses. The family appreciates all the love and support he received in his life. A Come-and-Go gathering in his honour will take place at the Borden Community Centre on Thursday, May 30, 11:00 a.m. - 2:00. Food and refreshments will be served. Noting his great love for animals, all donations in his honour or from your generosity, can be made to the Saskatoon SPCA, or any animal shelter of your choice.
