Bernice Marie Rose Massé

December 2, 1929 — September 21, 2025

Saskatoon

Bernice Marie Rose Massé passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025 at Oliver Lodge in Saskatoon. Mom was born on December 2, 1929 in the St Brieux district. She was the fourteenth child born to Eva and Noah Aubin. In the spring of 1945, Little Moose district was having a social and that was when Mom met the love of her life, Etienne. After three years of getting to know each other, Mom and Dad were united in marriage on December 28, 1948 in St Brieux. They were blessed with six children; three sons and three daughters.

Mom enjoyed being a homemaker, but also worked part time for 23 years at the St Brieux Credit Union doing janitorial duties. Bernice was always praised and commended on a job well done! Bernice always took pride in what she accomplished. After living in St Brieux for 60 years, Mom and Dad moved to Saskatoon in 1989 to be closer to their children. Bernice was an early riser, starting her day with a brisk one hour walk in the mall with numerous lady friends, who she enjoyed to chit chat and have coffee with. Mom spent the rest of her time gardening and keeping her yard well maintained, but her undivided attention went to her flowers. She spent many hours giving them plenty of TLC. Mom was always ready to give a helping hand, be it baby-sitting, house sitting, listening to our problems, and giving us guidance, support, and love.

Bernice was predeceased by her husband, Etienne; her son, Marcel; her parents Noah and Eva Aubin; her granddaughters, Rhea, Mandy, Taryn, Lara; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Bernice is survived by her children; Albert (Kathy) Massé, Estelle (George) Wehage, Marie Massé-Sander, Cecile (Les) Nochowny, Edward (Wendy) Massé; her 10 grandchildren; and her 17 great grandchildren.

A private gathering of immediate family only will be held to celebrate Bernice’s life.

Bernice's family would like to thank the nurses and care aides at Oliver Lodge for the care they provided for Mom.

Cherished Memories is honoured to be entrusted with Bernice's care and arrangements.
