Beatrice Loraine Mennie

December 14, 2025

Our mom was born in Wadena, Sk on April 18, 1936, and peacefully left us December 14, 2025, in Saskatoon, with family in attendance. She grew up on a farm near Margo and was always a good worker who was often sent to help relative’s families.

As she grew older, she had various jobs including a nurse’s aide position at Kelvington Hospital before she married Dad.

Mom worked hard, always had a big garden and was one of the founding members of the Kelvington Farmers Market. All summer she canned and froze all she could so there were always fresh cooked meals and baking. No one went hungry all were welcome to come for a meal.

She loved music, her radio played quietly all day every day. She played several instruments, all self-taught and played by ear. She usually played the keyboard the last few years.

After leaving the farm she retrained to be a Continuing Care Aide and worked at Parkridge in Saskatoon until she retired.

She volunteered many years at the Western Development Museum with the Ladies Craft Auxiliary who make a variety of items to sell in the store to make money for the WDM. She was very proud of the one hundred sock monkeys she sewed, and a curling sweater she knit that is still on display at the museum.

She is lovingly missed by her children Debbie (Ron), Tim (Brenda), Bob (Diane), Vivian (Dallas); Grandchildren Chris (Jennifer), Mykaela, Kalen, Lindsey (Dalton), Tenille (Cole); Great-grandchildren Erin, Sean, Kinsley and Eva. Her sisters Edna (Dave), Margaret (Ralph); Brothers Raymond (Hermine) and George (Marilyn).

Mom was predeceased by Bert (Husband), Julius & Florence Rediger (Parents), Joyce (Sister) and Ronald (Lillian) (Brother) and many extended family and friends.

There will be no funeral service. Immediate family will gather at graveside in the summer.

Donations to Heart and Stroke in Mom's memory.

Cherished Memories is honoured to be entrusted with Beatrice Mennie's care and arrangements.
