It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ann Skorlatowski on February 15, 2026, at the age of 79, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Ann was born in Bienfait, Saskatchewan, and grew up in Roche Percee. She was the beloved daughter of the late Barbara and Ludwig Zieglgansberger.
Ann was a multifaceted and exceptionally talented woman. She began her career in the garment industry and was recognized as one of the fastest and most efficient sewers at the GWG Jean Factory. Throughout her working life, she trained and managed others, earning respect wherever she went. No matter where life took her, she formed lasting friendships. She had a natural gift for uplifting others and often said, “Compliments are always free to give.”
She had a lifelong love of fashion and a remarkable artistic ability. She passed along her incredible artistic talent, her strong work ethic, and her deep commitment to family to her children, Rob, Kim, and Nicole. Throughout her life, especially in her later years when she had more time, she found joy in creating and designing beautiful pieces of jewelry and artwork. She also cherished the friendships she formed within the Métis community.
Ann is lovingly remembered by her children:
Rob Skorlatowski (Debbie Mooney)
Kim Skorlatowski
Nicole Skorlatowski
She was a proud grandmother to Cole Skorlatowski, Devin Dumais, and Keyanne Skorlatowski, and a great-grandmother to Kasimir Skorlatowski.
She is survived by her sisters Marie Manship (Al Manship), Pat Murphy (Alan Murphy), and Teresa Zieglgansberger; her sister-in-law Myrla Zieglgansberger; her sister-in-law Dolores Olson; and her brother-in-law Eugene Skorlatowski (Joanne Skorlatowski). She shared an incredibly special bond with her siblings. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Ann was predeceased by her beloved husband Steve Skorlatowski; her brothers and sisters of the Zieglgansberger family: Joe, Robert, Johnny, Fran Mosley, Margaret Schmidt (Lawrence Schmidt), and her niece Charlene; her husband’s parents Victor and Lillian Skorlatowski; her nephew Colin Skorlatowski; and her sister-in-law’s husband George Olson.
Beyond her family and friends ~Ann held a special place in her heart for her children’s closest friends, whom she lovingly considered part of her extended family. She also had a great love for animals and is survived by her cherished companions, Luna and Marmaduke.
Ann was a loving, caring, and kind soul with a bright spirit and generous heart. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
“A life well-lived, a heart well-loved, and a legacy of family, art, and kindness that will never fade.”
